State Librarian Jo Budler to Visit 100th Ohio Public Library
On August 27th, 2008, State Librarian Jo Budler will visit her 100th Ohio public library when she travels to Portsmouth Public Library.
Since coming to Ohio in 2004 as the State Librarian, Jo has visited public libraries as part of her professional development. The visits provide Jo the opportunity to visit with librarians, staff, and administrators; tour the libraries; and to engage in dialogue about ways to work together to ensure quality library service for all Ohio residents. These visits also showcase the array of communities and landscapes across Ohio, and illustrate the richness Ohio has to offer.
On August 27th, Jo will visit the Portsmouth Public Library and then speak with the Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth about the public library’s role in learning for life. Jo will also visit the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County that day.
In addition to her public library visits, Jo has also visited the Columbus Dispatch Library and the Denison University Library. She plans to visit more special and academic libraries in the future.
