State Library of Ohio Board Awards $678,796 in IMLS LSTA Grants to 8 Libraries
The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that the State Library board recently awarded $678,796 in IMLS LSTA grants to fund 8 library programs in Ohio. The funded projects include: Columbus Metropolitan Library, $55,700 to establish a digital museum of Columbus, entitled the Columbus Memory Project; Instructional Technology Services of Central Ohio (ITSCO), $103,164 to fund Phase III of the Literature Lounge Project; Kent State University Libraries, $60,300 for the expansion of TRAILS (Tool for Real-time Assessment of Information Literacy Skills); North Central Ohio Computer Cooperative (NCOCC), $141,587 to automate 35 school media centers in nine districts across the state; Northwest Regional Library System (NORWELD), $39,033 for a regional digitization project; Rossford Exempted Village School District, $38,575 to train Rossford staff as well as public library personnel and Bowling Green State University library and college of education personnel on safe Internet use and how to effectively evaluate quality content and authority of information; University of Cincinnati Libraries, $140,437 to digitize the birth and death records of the City of Cincinnati from 1865-1908; and Cleveland Public Library for a Services to the Blind and Physically Handicapped project.
