Featured Document During the summer of 1917, the Ohio Board of Library Commissioners conducted a summer library school. Housed at the Ohio State University Library and directed by the State Department of Library Organization, the library school provided tuition-free training for the staff of smaller libraries who did not have formal education in library science. A diverse group of students from every corner of Ohio participated in the 1917 program. A second summer library school, planned for the summer of 1918, was cancelled due to the country's involvement in World War I. To view the entire collection of documents, visit Ohio Memory. |
