We publish lists of new books in our collection which you may borrow. But, these currently do not include new titles available for in-house use only, such as subject-specific encyclopedias, new compilations of statistics, or other specialized volumes which are not usually read from cover to cover.
We have just added The State of Black America 2012 from the National Urban League. The League describes this publication as “the annual barometer of the conditions, experiences and opinions of African Americans.” The subtitle of this year’s edition is: “Occupy the Vote to Educate, Employ & Empower,” and includes the 2012 Equality Index. The Index analyzes gains & set-backs in economics, social justice, education, health, and civic engagement. The book also features essays and special reports.
