Beginning July 1st, KnowItNow statewide virtual reference chat overnight coverage will be re-allocated to mid-day. Use during the overnight hours is sparse, and the service is heavily used during the daytime. The extra mid-day coverage will take effect beginning September 10, 2012. Although there will be no live chat available from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., you will still have the ability to contact the service anytime by leaving an email message or sending a text message which will be promptly answered after the service reopens in the morning.
The State Library’s local chat and texting service is unchanged and State Library reference staff will respond to your texts and chat requests Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you connect to our local chat between 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., your question will be routed to the statewide service librarians.
