Digital Preparedness and Recovery Symposium

The Northeast Ohio chapter of the Alliance for Response is organizing a half day symposium entitled, “Digital Media: Disaster Preparedness and Recovery.” This symposium will be on Monday October 18th, from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Cleveland.  Our keynote speaker is Tom Clareson from LYRASIS and Heritage Preservation who will speak on “Digital Preservation and Disaster Preparedness: National Developments.” In addition to our keynote speaker we will feature experts on Information Technology including: Mark Kavinsky, Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer from Skynet Solutions, LLC., Adam Wead, Systems and Digital Collections Librarian at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and Jill Tatem, University Archivist at Case Western Reserve University.

Although the symposium is free to the public registration is required. Please register with Nicole Hayes at NHayes@ica-artconservation.org by October 15th . Parking is available at the Great Lakes Science Center for a reduced rate of $7 with validation at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.  Please arrive no earlier than 8:30am. The symposium will start promptly at 9:00am.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is open to staff of Ohio museums for the remainder of the day free of charge.  If you are a library staff member, free admission might be available, please indicate interest at registration.
