The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that the State Library Board recently awarded $622,471 in federal Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grants to11 libraries and organizations. Northeast Ohio Network for Education Technology (NEONET), the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction/Ohio Central School System, Switzerland of Ohio School District, Cuyahoga County Public Library, Northern Buckeye Education Council/INFOhio, The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, and Northern Buckeye Education Council/NWOCA received LSTA Full Grants. Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library, Northeast Ohio Regional Library System (NEO-RLS), Oakstone Academy, and Shaker Heights Public Library received LSTA Entrepreneurship Grants.
“We are very excited about the programs being funded by these grants and hope they can be replicated in other libraries,” expressed State Librarian Beverly Cain. “These LSTA grants awarded by the State Library are critical during the current economic crisis when Ohio’s libraries are being challenged financially. Grant funding makes it possible for libraries to develop innovative programs and services to meet the changing needs of their communities.”
