Honoring Meribah Mansfield's Retirement

Passed by the State Library Board on July 22, 2010

WHEREAS, Meribah Mansfield has served with distinction and dedication as a leader in the Ohio library community for more than 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Meribah Mansfield has directed the Worthington Libraries since 1991, leading the library through a period of unprecedented growth and achievement, including earning the national Library of the Year award from Gale and Library Journal in 2007; and

WHEREAS, Meribah Mansfield gave unsparingly of her time, energy, knowledge, and leadership to help make free Internet access and a wealth of electronic resources available to all Ohioans through Ohio’s public libraries as a member of the Blue Ribbon Commission that formed the Ohio Public Library Information Network and as a member of the OPLIN board from 1995-2001; and

WHEREAS, Meribah Mansfield has provided guidance and leadership to the Ohio library community by serving  as president of the Ohio Library Association, chair of the Ohio Library Council Board of Trustees, a member of the OHIONET Board of Directors, and as a member of the State Library of Ohio’s Resource Sharing Commission;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that on this day, July 22, 2010, the State Library Board expresses its individual and collective gratitude and appreciation for Meribah Mansfield, congratulates her on her retirement, and wishes her continued success in all of her endeavors.
