Board President Krista Taracuk Recognized For Her Service By The State Library of Ohio
After over six years of service, Board President Krista Taracuk bids farewell to the State Library of Ohio. Ms. Tarachuk was recognized at the January board meeting with the following resolution:
WHEREAS, Krista Taracuk served diligently as a member of the State Library Board from April 2012 through January 2019 and President of the State Library Board from January 2017 through January 2019; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career, which spanned nearly 40 years, Krista Taracuk has provided an unparalleled level of professional service and commitment to the library community through her work with the State Library Board, Worthington City Schools, Cardington-Lincoln Local Schools, Ohio Dominican University, Ohio Educational Library Media Association, American Library Association, Association of School Librarians, Young Adult Library Services Association, and Assembly on Literature for Adolescents; and
WHEREAS, Krista Taracuk helped lead the State Library of Ohio through a period of ongoing change, including shifting legislative priorities, making major strides forward in the digitization and preservation of information related to Ohio’s cultural heritage, and redefining the boundaries of many public libraries in order to eliminate double taxation for library services; and
WHEREAS, Krista Taracuk has contributed in numerous ways to the success of the many programs and services offered by the State Library, including fostering collaboration across types of libraries; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the members of the Board of the State Library of Ohio, meeting in regular session this 17th day of January 2019 in Columbus, Ohio, express their individual and collective gratitude and appreciation for Krista Taracuk.
