Statewide Delivery

The Statewide Delivery System service is managed and coordinated by the State Library of Ohio. The single delivery network system is provided by Priority Dispatch.  See below for information about delivery and the delivery materials needed to participate in statewide resource sharing.

State Library of Ohio and OhioLINK are meeting regularly with Priority Dispatch.

If there is new information to share, an update is emailed to the statelibdelivery listserv. Recent updates are listed below.

July 27, 2022

Upcoming Courier Holidays
There will not be courier service on the following holidays, observed by Priority Dispatch. Your library does not need to report closures for these dates.

      • September 5 – Labor Day
      • November 24 – Thanksgiving
      • December 26 – Christmas

June 2, 2022

The process for reporting lost and damaged items to Priority Dispatch is now part of the Statewide Delivery Customer Service form on the State Library website.

To report a lost or damaged item:

    • Go to the Statewide Delivery Customer Service form webpage.
    • Select “Lost or damaged item claim”
    • Download and complete the Priority Library Claim form (PDF)
    • Save the completed file.
    • Attach the saved file to the Statewide Delivery Customer Service form.
    • Complete the Statewide Delivery Customer Service form and submit.

Please continue to use the Statewide Delivery Customer Service form to report closing information and delivery service issues to both the Delivery Manager at the State Library of Ohio and Priority Dispatch. Follow the directions below (June 1, 2022 update) for final STAT Courier claims.

June 1, 2022

Final Claims for Items Lost in Transit (STAT Courier)
STAT Courier is now wrapping up the processing of submitted claims for lost or damaged items. To submit your library’s final claims for items that were lost in transit, please complete this spreadsheet with information about the lost items and return the spreadsheet to me at jward@library.ohio.gov. Items included on this spreadsheet should have been placed in transit between July 1, 2021 and April 1, 2022. Any final damaged item claims may also be submitted using this spreadsheet. All final claims must be returned to the State Library by June 17. The State Library will then send a complete list of all claims for our consortium to STAT Courier for processing.

Delivery customer service form

Use the Statewide Delivery Customer Service form to report closing information and delivery service issues to both the Delivery Manager at the State Library of Ohio and Priority Dispatch.

Statewide Delivery Material Handling and Shipping Guidelines

The OhioLINK consortium provides delivery services via the same shipping company supporting Statewide Delivery.  Libraries shipping an item to an OhioLINK library, or libraries that are part of SearchOhio or Central Library Consortium (CLC)—click on the OHIOLINK LABELS button.

Label Usage Guidelines

  • For proper print formatting, set your browser margin settings to 0.25 inches. Additionally, the zoom level on your browser must be set to 0 (you can usually hit Ctrl+0 to reset the zoom).
  • Old shipping labels – You must remove all old labels attached to any shipping container. This will prevent the materials from being shipped to an erroneous location.
  • Hub – It is very important that the hub is on the label. It belongs in the right upper corner.
  • Do not fold the shipping labels. The entire label must be clearly visible at all times.
  • Print the Statewide Delivery Labels Tips sheet and place in area where library materials are packed and labeled.

statelibdelivery is a required email listserv for Statewide Delivery Service participants.

Typical use includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Requesting shipping supplies and materials (i.e., bags, shipping containers, etc.)
  • Announcing update information for manifest list⁄labels
  • Receiving communiqués from the State Library of Ohio regarding delivery.

Request Delivery Supplies

  • Requesting shipping supplies and materials (i.e., bags, shipping containers, etc.) is done by posting a message to the statelibdelivery email listserv.
  • For current participating members already subscribed to the list please submit your request to the list as instructed below.
  • If your library has joined the Statewide Delivery system please have the individual(s) responsible for day-to-day delivery at your library subscribe to the statelibdelivery list. Once someone has subscribed to the statelibdelivery list, submit the request for supplies to the list.

Closings

Libraries planning to close on a given day other than a state holiday listed above, such as Staff Development Day, must report these closings to the statewide delivery system within ten days of the closing. Use the Delivery Customer Service form to submit this information.

Because the delivery system is vital for consortia sharing library materials, the State Library of Ohio used a portion of the funds allotted by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The State Library is providing a 10% discount to libraries to offset the cost of this vital service for libraries participating in Statewide Delivery from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

Please submit the form information located below at least 7-10 business days prior to expected start of service. Once you have notified us that you would like to begin delivery, we will send you a contract including the pro-rated amount (see current pricing). You will receive a contract from the State Library of Ohio. Do not mail us checks until your we have invoiced your institution. We will invoice you after we have received signed contracts from you and the Statewide Delivery provider.

  • If you have a MID# with the Statewide Delivery Service already, please provide it here. Otherwise, provide your FSCS number. If you don’t know it, visit the Ohio Public Library Statistics page. FSCS numbers are listed by city; choose A–K or L–Z to find your institution.
  • To insure quality service, please note the nearest main cross road and parking location. Specify which door to enter and exit, along with directions to the pick up/delivery location within the building.
