In adherence to best practices and guidance from the Governor’s office brought about in response to COVID-19, the State Library is in a “remote work” status. State Library staff remain available remotely during normal business hours. Thank you for your patience. Online resources remain available 24/7. Patrons may return items to the State Library through the mail or 24/7 in the book drop in front of our building. The option for requesting items for new check-outs is once again available. Contact-Free Front Door Pickup is available on a limited basis.
How do I request an item?
When browsing through content or search results, click on individual items to determine availability. To place a request:
- Click on the Request icon
- Select the State Library as your “School or Institution”
- Enter your name and your library ID
To renew your books online, access your account, enter your name and your library ID and click submit. Once you have logged into your account:
- Click Checked Out Items
- Select the books you want to renew
- Click Renew
If you are able to renew your item, a new due date will appear in the Status Column; if you cannot renew your item, a flag will appear indicating that the item could not be renewed.
You may also renew books by calling the calling the State Library Circulation & Special Services Department at 614-644-6950 .
If you are a state employee, you can return your books via inter-office mail. Address books to:
